Globalization and localization of an ERP product (USA ERP supplier)
    Since 1998, a leading ERP Provider in the US has cooperated with ASDC to develop five localized versions of its ERP products for the China and Japan markets. ASDC maintained good cooperation and close communication with client's product development team in multiple geographic locations.In the development procedure, a ASDC applied an advanced process management and technology to guarantee the uniformity and quality of the localized product. This further enabled our client to release the product in the specific markets according to their original plan.
 Project description
    To localize the interface, source messages, and online documentation the of client's ERP product to Chinese and Japanese.

• Project duration: 4 months/per version for average



• Technology: ASP, VB, C#, COBOL, PERL, etc.



• Translation Workload: about 5 million double bytes words (Translation workload for online help is about 2.57 million Chinese Characters, workload for ASP part is as the same. Localization of User Manual is counted separately.)



• Source code Workload: more than 500 million bytes. (All the source code of COBOL and ASP need to be analyzed)

    Based on a the client's marketing plan and target release dates in China and Japan, the client placed strict request on the delivery schedule and quality of project. Through a strict vendor assessment process, ASDC was chosen as the localization service vendor for its professional process management, professional technology, quality control system and competitive pricing etc.
Challenges to ASDC
    ASDC had to take up the challenge of understanding the specifications of the client's ERP product and industry regulations within a very short time. ASDC further had to maintain the consistency among the various versions of the client's product, and guarantee to meet the quality requirements and time schedule and of the localization project.
